Advising on choices, not just numbers
The thing I love most about my job isn’t numbers, it’s choices.
Over the years, I’ve helped people retire, save tax, build wealth, and make smarter financial decisions.
Those are the wins we often talk about, but there’s another side to financial planning.
…Helping a family through an insurance claim when someone can no longer work.
…Supporting a widow or widower after losing their spouse.
…Helping someone navigate Centrelink when life hasn’t gone to plan.
What I’ve learned is that good financial advice isn’t really about money. It’s about giving people options when they need them most. Maybe that’s why I enjoy this profession so much.
My parents immigrated to Australia from Portugal with very little…no wealth and limited education. They spent their lives working physically demanding jobs and making sacrifices so us kids would have opportunities they never had.
For me, these opportunities were far more valuable than handing me money would ever be, because they taught me the importance of hard work, treating people well, being respectful, staying humble and remembering to enjoy life along the way.
Thanks to the choices they made, and the choices I made, I was fortunate enough to get an education and build a career in a profession I genuinely love. So now, the greatest satisfaction I get isn’t from investment returns or strategy documents, it’s when a client achieves something that matters to them.
It might be their ability to retire with confidence, helping their kids, taking that trip they’ve talked about for years and, or, sleeping better at night knowing things are under control.
Everyone’s version of success is different, and I just feel privileged to help people on their journey toward it.
